The Fabulouss Trend for this week are stripes and bright colors that POP! I love the mustard colored pants with the contrast of the stripes. Whenever I get myself ready for the work day, I try to put together pieces that will stand out, make me feel confident and allows me to show my sense of style. For some, this outfit is taking a risk, but for me, it’s my style!

WHITE CROCHETED SKIRT STYLE

Whenever I feel like I’m in a wardrobe slump my go-to is Pinterest. Whether it be for outfit inspiration, gift inspiration, or recipes Pinterest has got anyone covered! Most recently, Pinterest’s new update includes being able to purchase your favorite clothing items right off the site! How cool, right? If you’re familiar with the older Pinterest you know how much of a hassle it was, after a long quest to find the item that you were coveting, to find out that it was a broken link. They’ve fixed all of that now!

The featured item is this crocheted white pencil skirt. I love this skirt. I originally purchased this skirt with a similar crop top. Being the Kardashian fanatic that I am, I wanted a similar outfit to what Kim wore to her 33rd birthday back in 2013. After a long and tedious Google search I found a similar outfit on eBay! I was a little apprehensive at first because I wasn’t sure how the quality would be for $29.99, but that was a risk I was willing to take.

After debuting the two-piece at an All-White birthday party a couple weeks ago, I wanted to figure out ways wear the top and skirt as separates. So I took to Pinterest. My decision to pair it with a J.Crew Linen Classic Tee was based on the fact that it was 94 degrees yesterday and I didn’t want anything too stuffy like this J.Crew chambray shirt, which would also pair perfectly with this pencil skirt for work. I wanted a simple, yet sophisticated look to wear to church and this was the result. In addition, I believe that the mix of colors provides a unique and unexpected look for the simple fact that it’s not matchy-matchy. To tie it all together I chose this Avon egg-shell handbag (which has been discontinued but they have plenty other cute handbags to go around); to which I love the contrast between the hand-bag and the stark white skirt.

Now, on to the the necklace. It is unlike anything that I own in my jewelry collection. Between the pink, ribbon closure and the price on H&M, I was sold. The ribbon closure gives way to a more feminine look and the color is bold but subtle. The nude pumps are a staple in anyone’s closet and you can find a pair of nude pumps practically anywhere. Checkout Nordstrom, Zappos, Steve Madden, or DSW! I don’t remember where I got these pumps from (I’ve worn them so much that the brand name inside the shoe has worn out. If I remember correctly, my mom gifted them to me after not particularly being privy to them. Win for me!

No outfit is complete without the glam side of things! I used my Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original for long-lasting eyeshadow. For a color base, I used the M.A.C. Pro Longwear Pain Pot in Indianwood. For eyeshadow I used my Naked 2 Palette in it I used Half Baked (entire lid), Busted (crease), and Blackout (outter V of lid to darken it up a bit).

For my face, I used the NEW Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation in 180 = 530 – Brown (they did some reformulation which means new color numbers), L’Oreal’s True Match Concealer in Medium/Deep-Cool – C6-7-8 to brighten under my eyes. I finished the makeup look off with Avon’s setting spray, Volum’ Express The Falsies Washable Mascara in Blackest Black on the lower lashes and Ardell Lashes (edgy). My sunnies and turquoise stud earrings are from H&M.
